The Orange Room Tapas and Fine Food in New Westminster, B.C.

The Orange Room placed in five categories in New Westminster's A-List, put on by the New Westminster NewsLeader.

Published in the Saturday, September 26, 2009 edition, the results are based on a survey done in July and August. Some of the questions are what you'd expect, like favourite dance studio or favourite curry, but there are a few whimsical items as well, like "Favourite place to reminisce about a summer vacation in Italy" or  "Favourite place to kiss and make up".

The Orange Room placed second in "Favourite appetizer menu", "Favourite first date restaurant" and "Favourite place for brunch". Our server Carmelle tied for first place for "Favourite server" (yay Carmelle!), and we were third for "Favourite wine list".

We thank all who voted for us: we are so very proud to have been nominated and voted in so many categories!

It may seem a little late in the year, but New Westminster has a new patio!

It looks like it will be a little dripply and wet this week, but at least it isn't snowing!

Benjamin Keith was at the Orange Room Saturday, September 5 and October 10, 2009 with his voice and guitar. Benjamin has a folksy good humour to his music, at one time daring the rain to stop (it did slow down). Here's a quote from his website www.benjaminkeithmusic.com:

Benjamin's big voice warmed up the Orange Room in New Westminster on several cold and rainy nights. Hopefully we'll be seeing more of him!

Laszlo Polgari provided live music at the Orange Room August 29 and October 3, 2009.

Providing a mix of classical, Spanish and popular tunes, Laszlo plays with an astonishing virtuosity.

I just walked by and I heard some great guitar music which drew me in. The players name was Laszlo Polgari and he exhibited an Al di Meola level of craftsmanship playing Spanish guitar ... Mr. Polgari, I am waiting for your CD to come out!
