Coffee

Level Ground Trading is a Victoria-based Fair Trade Organization whose mission is to trade fairly and directly with small-scale producers in developing countries, and to market their products in North America offering customers ethical choices. Level Ground has Direct Fair Trade relationships with producers in five countries: Colombia, Bolivia, Peru, Tanzania and Ethiopia. The company markets coffee, dried tropical fruit and cane sugar wholesale to grocery stores, health food stores, Fair Trade and gift stores, cafes, offices, health and natural food distributors and non-profit fundraisers. The company was founded in 1997.

Level Ground Trading directly imports and roasts premium Arabica coffee beans from five developing countries: Bolivia, Colombia, Ethiopia, Peru and Tanzania. Working directly with small-scale producers allows us to improve coffee quality while ensuring that the most money stays within each farming community. Our beans are roasted locally in small-batches in one of three fluid-bed roasters so each bean is evenly heated. Roasted beans are packaged promptly to retain freshness. www.levelground.com

Jesse brings the precise and elegant art of Japanese mixology to the Orange Room

Jesse (Masahiro Minami) was trained under a Japanese master bartender for two years at the Le Monument Bleu, Kyoto Japan. His precise and elegant mixology follows one of the standard NBA (Nihon/Japanese Bartender Association) methods.

He has four years of experience working at bars in Japan as a head bartender, whisky blender, and sommelier. He has invented numerous signature cocktails and is knowledgeable in distilled spirits, liqueurs, wines and beers.

Jesse brings his passion and "elegance" to the art of martini making. He is also a very friendly person. Come and have a chat with him and your drink of choice will be found in the conversation.
